Advocacy

Early Childhood Education is the foundation of a child's success in school.  Whether taught by a loving parent, nurturing caregiver or quality pre-k program, what a child experiences from birth - 5 years old is most crucial to his/her development.  This is the time brain patterns are being formed, language is developed, and social-emotional skills are being shaped.  I am passionate about wanting every child to have  every opportunity for success, which requires the child to be exposed to rich conversations, children's literature, nursery rhymes, children's songs, painting, drawing, sensory exploration and an abundance of playing indoors and outdoors.

It is my hope to educate as many families as possible on the imporatance of children's experiences from birth through kindergarten. I serve on 3 boards: CTAEYC as VP of Public Policy, The CT Alliance for Early Childhood and the School Readiness Provider Council, and have been a member of NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) for over 10 years.
